From Salad of Warm Goat Cheese; Eggplant Confit with Pita Bread; and Salmon Baked in a Tent; to Barbecued Potatoes with Basil Butter; Summer Fruit Champagne Jelly; and Ginger Divination Cookies, Witch In The Kitchen offers delicious recipes with special metaphysical applications. You won't find talk of elaborate rituals here, but rather the simple, subtle, yet potent magic and wisdom of hearth, heart, and home. One of my favorite sections of the book, and one I return to time and time again, is Cora's "Brushwood Poetry" which give a strong glimpse into the mind of the woman and the witch. From childhood encounters with faeries, to living through the Depression, and her first "physical plane" meeting with he husband Victor, "Kitchen Witch" is a beautiful testament of joy, magic, and sorrow that belongs on the shelf of every practitioner of American Witchcraft and folk magic.

(More customer reviews)I recently received this book from a Pagan friend and I love it. It's simple to understand, and I see a lot of old wives' tales in it. Being Southern I grew up (and still do) a lot of Kitchen Magick and not even know it. It was very interesting to see where some of the things came from and to learn a little magic along the way. I would say that if you are into magic or simple like to learn new things, then this is the book for you. You can learn a little candle magic or knot magic or even Witch bottles all from the point-of-view from the kitchen (which is the heart of any home).
You don't have to be a witch or even pagan to enjoy this book.
