(More customer reviews)My sister and I just tried two recipes (miniature caramel chews and strawberry nut fudge) from this book and they both failed horribly. The quantities make no sense and don't make nearly the amount that they say. The instructions aren't specific enough to be helpful. The actions depicted next to the instructions don't always match what you are supposed to be doing, and the quantities depicted are completely misleading. We followed the instructions as exactly as we could and both recipes made disgusting, gloppy, crumbling messes rather than the delicious candy pictured in the book. (We've made similar confections from other recipes before with success, so we don't think it's us!) In short, it seems that these recipes were never actually tested as written, making it impossible to achieve a good result.
If you actually plan on making gifts for people, find another book!!
If you just want to look at pretty pictures, this book is great for that. Too bad you can't actually replicate what they depict.
