(More customer reviews)Being a history freak and a foodie I had to get this book. And it is a great, if small, book. It deals with the kitchen of the past, how it was the center of homesteads and family. There are chapters on how people baked bread, cooked over the fire, made butter, and how they preserved meat and fruit, by drying, smoking and pickling.
The book also gives a lot of information about the utensils and tools used in preparing food and keeping the fire alive.
